Also, a majority of these selections would also be recommended for FanDuel, but you should first understand the differences between each baseball scoring system before plugging players in both.

Around the Foghorn
Masahiro Tanaka (NYY) home vs. BAL for $10,100: Tanaka (6-3, 3.65 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 74 K in 74 IP) has been very good after returning from injury, averaging 19.45 FPPG. He takes the mound for the Yankees at home where they are a -150 favorite over the struggling Orioles who have scored 2.8 rpg in their last 10 games while going 2-8. On an early slate that lacks a perfect SP matchup, Tanaka for $10,100 is as solid a pick as there is and should get you 20-30 FP.
Garrett Richards (LAA) home vs. MIN for $9,500: Richards is having a great season for the Angels with a 10-6 record, 3.24 ERA, and 1.20 WHIP. The righty is coming of a stellar 39.5 FP complete game last time out vs. Boston. He’s at home again, this time as a -150 favorite facing a Twins team that is hitting just .252 vs. RHP (19th in ML) and has the 28th ranked HR total vs. them. Look for Richard to keep up the momentum vs. Minnesota!

Bear Goggles On
Clayton Kershaw (LAD) at NYM for $14,500: Kershaw (7-6, 2.68 ERA, 0.99 WHIP) has an amazing 174 strikeouts in 131 IP in 2015 while averaging 27,3 FPPG, an output second in the majors only to Max Scherzer. Kershaw has been even better lately, with 27 Ks and 49.05 FP in his last 2 starts. He faces a light-hitting Mets squad (last in ML vs LHP w/ a .221 BA) at pitcher-friendly CitiField. Plus, the Dodgers are a huge -200 road favorite on the road. His salary is a little hard to swallow, but its worth the investment on a night that doesn’t have too many great hitter stacks available.
Trevor Bauer (CLE) home vs. CWS for $8,700: Bauer (8-6, 4.03 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 107 Ks in 109 1/3 IP) has been serviceable albeit inconsistent this season, and looks to rebound after a tough start last time out vs. CIN. The highly talented Indian righty has the stuff to put up a big fantasy number for a relatively low price vs. Chicago at home, where the Indians are a -140 favorite.
Next: Early Hitters
Jul 22, 2015; Detroit, MI, USA; Detroit Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler (3) hits an RBI double in the third inning against the Seattle Mariners at Comerica Park. Mandatory Credit: Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Call to the Pen
2B Ian Kinsler (DET) home vs. SEA (Iwakuma) for $3,900: Kinsler has been hot since the all-star break and has hit .375 with 3 HR in his last 15 games. He holds an impressive lifetime .346 mark with 3 HRs vs. Iwakuma. He’s hitting near the top of a Tigers lineup that has scored 23 runs in their last 3 games. Get Kinsler here while his salary remains under $4,000.
1B/OF Mark Trumbo (SEA) at DET (Price) for $3,100: Trumbo has been decent splitting time with Arizona and Seattle in 2015, batting .242 with 11 HRs. He has a favorable matchup against David Price as Trumbo owns a .375 average (6 for 16) with a homer vs. the Tiger lefty. Although Trumbo has yet to break out as a Mariner, getting a power hitter this cheap is rare in DK. Draft him and expect good things from him at Comerica Park.
Next: Late Hitters

Beyond the Flag
2B Neil Walker (PIT) home vs. WAS (Fister) for $3,300: Walker (.272, 7 HR, 36 RBI) is averaging a decent 7.0 FPPG for his position and salary level. The Pirate switch-hitter has always been much better from the left side, and is batting .277 w/ all his HRs vs. RHP in ’15. He faces righty Doug Fister, against whom Walker has hit .364 (4 for 11) in his career.
Tips for New Daily Fantasy League Players
OF Ender Inciarte (ARZ) home vs. MIL (Fiers) for $3,400: Inciarte (.282, 6.8 FPPG) has been hitting lead-off for Arizona and has a good L/R matchup vs. the Brewers’ Mike Fiers. If you need to save some money and find a fairly cheap OF, his $3,400 salary is a bargain in Chase Field.
