Fantasy Football: Top 50 WRs (1-10)

We have finally made it to the article that you all have been waiting for: The best of the best, the top ten of our top 50 WRs. On this list you will most likely not find any real surprises, but inevitably you will find out that a few of these guys will not live up to their potential. Every year there are surprises, and by surprises I mean there are guys who wind up a top ten guy that we didn’t expect and there are guys who we thought were shoe-ins for this list who do not make it.

So now with no further talk let’s take a look at who my top ten WR list entails:

10. T.Y. Hilton: I have found that I am a little higher on Hilton than most guys. I probably feel this way due to his QB Andrew Luck. Luck is only getting better and still has not come real close to his ceiling. With the addition of Andre Johnson it should keep teams honest and keep them from doubling up on Hilton, thus making him that much more of a fantasy threat.

9. Alshon Jeffery: Jeffery has proven himself as one of the more talented WRs in the NFL. He goes up and gets just about anything that Jay Cutler throws his way and makes Cutler look a little bit better than he is, if that is possible. Draft Jeffery with confidence here and expect him to be a solid WR1.

8. A.J. Green: As you will notice the top ten list of WRs is so full of talent that it can make your head spin. There are easily 20 or so guys that have the tools and the talent to be a top ten WR. I put Green on this list because after a somewhat down year I am expecting him to bounce back strong and have a top ten type of season.

7. Jordy Nelson: To he completely honest here I am probably too low on Nelson here. He is the kind of guy who has been the #1 WR in years past and has all the right things going for him to be there again. Watch for him to climb this list and draft him anywhere and feel very confident in him.

6. Julio Jones: Here is another guy that has all the talent in the world, but has had some troubled years with injuries. I am looking for him to put it together this year and lead the Falcons perhaps to the playoffs this year.

5. Odell Beckham Jr.: A lot of people are simply enlisting Beckham Jr. as their number 1 WR, but for me I think he should normalize just a bit this year. It is not that I don’t think he is special, because I do think he is special, but with a healthy Victor Cruz i would hope the Eli Manning can distribute the ball in a healthy way for the Giants offense.

4. Dez Bryant: I have always been a Dez Bryant fan and own him in as many leagues as I can. I would like to think that he can take over the top WR spot this year, but that might be a bit lofty. Nevertheless I completely expect a huge top five WR type of year from him.

  • 3. Demaryius Thomas: Thomas will have a huge year as long as two things happen: He has to stay healthy and Peyton Manning has to stay healthy. I expect both players will do just that so draft Thomas with confidence as  a difference maker WR1.

    2. Calvin Johnson: One of the other trends that I am noticing as I do research is that a lot of guys are already writing Johnson off after an injury plagued 2014 campaign. I am not ready to do that just yet. Let’s give Johnson the respect he has earned and see how he finishes the 2015 season. Draft him as you normally would.

    1. Antonio Brown: There is really very little question as to who to pencil in as our top WR for the 2015 season. After the blistering pace Brown has set the past two seasons I have no reason to believe he won’t be a huge fantasy threat this season and hold his crown as the best fantasy WR in football.
