Report: Magic trade for Heat guard Shabazz Napier
By Mike Dyce
The Orlando Magic are reportedly set to acquire Miami Heat guard Shabazz Napier in a trade.
Just when you thought the NBA off season was winding down, the Orlando Magic go out and make a trade to bolster their squad.
The Magic are set to acquire Miami Heat guard Shabazz Napier.
Last year Napier averaged 5.1 points, 2.5 assists, 2.2 rebounds a game and fell out of favor with the team as the season wound down. When the Heat drafted Napier, it was interpreted as a move to make LeBron James happy and keep him from fleeing town back to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Heat would never admit that but basically giving away a player the team gave up two second rounders to get in return for just one says differently.
Looks like the team were just happy to give away Napier. Unfortunately for Napier he likely won’t be seeing the court a whole lot and being given a substantial amount of minutes to improve. Napier will be behind Elfrid Payton and C.J. Watson on the depth chart.
