5. De’Aaron Fox, PG (Katy, TX)
De’Aaron Fox is considered one of the top five point guards in the class of 2016 and comes in ranked as the seventh-best overall prospect in the nation.

Reigning from Katy, Texas, Fox would likely be thought of as a top in-state target for newly-appointed Texas Longhorns head coach Shaka Smart and that is definitely the case. The young, vibrant coach has a way with getting through to his players and relating to them on a personal level.
That can only help in the recruitment of the five-star point guard, but a recent commitment of four-star point guard Jacob Young may sway Fox’s decision a bit.
For that reason alone, I believe he is no longer bound for the in-state Longhorns, instead he will be heading to the next best option: Kansas.
Bill Self has helped carry on the tradition of winning basketball with the Jayhawks and has consistently put together top-ranked recruiting classes. It seems like every year Self has a couple of the top-tier recruits, usually luring five-stars like it’s no big deal.
Kansas has yet to account for a 2016 commitment yet and Fox could be the first one. Self also has a solid history of developing his players, which would make the Jayhawks a prime spot for the young point guard.
Prediction: Kansas Jayhawks
