FanDuel Picks For July 29

More from DFS

Welcome back to the best place to get fantasy sports advice across multiple sports. Today I am going to give you my best picks and choices for your FanDuel lineups that I can. My advice is based purely on mathematical and statistical analysis and I try to avoid using player biases and so forth.

NOTE: these FanDuel picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science.

Here are my FanDuel Picks for July 29:

Next: FanDuel Pitcher Options

Jul 24, 2015; Anaheim, CA, USA; Texas Rangers starting pitcher Colby Lewis (48) pitches during the second inning against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Mandatory Credit: Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

Pitcher Options:

Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers ($13,300): Despite his extremely high price tag Kershaw remains the best option to use any time he is pitching. He is consistently knocking down 24 and 25 fantasy point games. If you utilize the rest of your draft carefully that is going to be hard to beat. There are several other options that I like, but I feel like it has to get under about $9,000 before you consider not using Kershaw. With that $4,000 you can make a significant  pick up offensively to offset what Kershaw is bringing to the table. Some other options to consider are John Lackey and possibly Jose Quintana.

Colby Lewis, Rangers ($7,000): Colby Lewis has been pretty solid in his last two starts. Those are some pretty good numbers to gamble on for this price. I think if Lewis does well and you hit with the $6,300 savings then you should be in pretty good shape. This one is for the riverboat gamblers as this could possibly go terribly wrong, but I feel pretty good about it.

Next: FanDuel Infield Hitter Options

Jul 7, 2015; Washington, DC, USA; Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto (19) hits a solo home run off Washington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer (not pictured) during the third inning at Nationals Park. Mandatory Credit: Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

  • Joey Votto, Reds ($3,700): I had a pretty hard time finding any good BVP match-ups for infielders so I had to kind of go to plan B. Plan B consists of using a mix of finding a hot player that cares and has a mildly inexpensive price tag. Votto is not terribly high-priced and so I like him for the 29th.

Chase Headley, Yankees ($2,900): Headley has been playing pretty well lately. He has had several solid fantasy games including a game over 9 points the last few days. He is another one that I like because of price and how he is playing plus several other minor factors. We only have nine games to work with for the 29th so sometimes you have to adjust how you roll the dice.

    Next: FanDuel Outfield Hitter Options

Jul 28, 2015; Boston, MA, USA; Chicago White Sox left fielder Melky Cabrera (53) hits a triple during the sixth inning against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Mandatory Credit: Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

    Outfield Hitter Options:

Melky Cabrera, White Sox ($3,600): Cabrera was simply too hard to leave off of this list despite his moderately high price tag. I completely expect him to be worth every penny of this price, but I had expected him to be a bit cheaper. Cabrera holds a fantastic career mark against Rick Porcello having gone 10/20 against him. He has also added a home run, two RBI and a stolen base.

Marlon Byrd, Reds ($2,300): If you are looking to save some money in order to afford Kershaw as your pitcher here is where we make that happen. Byrd is always a little streaky, but he gets a familiar face on the mound on the 29th. In his career against John Lackey he has always done pretty well. He is 10/29 with two home runs and eight RBI.

As always we thank you for stopping by and wish you FanDuelers the best of luck!
