2. Acquire Ben Revere from the Phillies

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Ben Revere is far from a big name, but he could be a solid addition that makes the difference between playing in October and narrowly missing the postseason.

The biggest weakness in the San Fransisco Giants’ starting lineup is in center field, a position that Revere has plenty of experience at. While he may not have the ideal arm strength that a playoff contender wants from its center fielder, he has the range to make up for it. He is also a reliable glove in the outfield that has yet to make an error in 2015.

In addition to his defensive abilities, Revere is hitting above .300 for the third consecutive season and has the potential to swipe 40 bases for the second year in a row.

Perhaps the biggest draw to trading for Revere, however, is that he would not cost the Giants a fortune. Revere is a decent outfielder, but he is not going to command top prospects like fellow center fielder Carlos Gomez from the Milwaukee Brewers. A trade involving a talented outfield prospect like Mac Williamson and a young pitcher like Joan Gregorio could be enough to get the deal done.

Revere is not the right-handed power hitter that the Giants need, but he is a player just entering his prime that can make an impact in several areas of the game.
