Troy Tulowitzki is playing in his first game with the Toronto Blue Jays and it took just two at-bats to see his first home run.

It has to be a tough transition going from one ball club to another midway through the year, especially when a player has spent his entire 10-year career with one team. Troy Tulowitzki is in the midst of a big-time adjustment as he was traded from the Colorado Rockies to the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday.

The 30-year-old shortstop is one of the games best infielders and a guy who seemed to be on the trade block with the Rockies every season based on their lack of meeting playoff expectations.

Many people knocked the Blue Jays’ move to acquire the power-hitting shortstop as they had bigger needs which happened to be the pitching staff which ranks 23rd in the league in team ERA. The offense, however, already ranks first in runs and fifth in batting average.

Adding Tulowitzki, though, ensures that no opposing pitcher will escape a game with the Blue Jays without surrendering a decent amount of runs.

It didn’t take much time for the critics of this trade to be silenced as Tulo hit a home run in his second at-bat with his new team.

Tulowitzki is having an All-Star caliber season and it hasn’t stopped since he changed leagues. It will be a tough transition for the career .300 hitter, but he is off to a solid start in the American League.

Now let’s see if this continues or if Toronto ends up wishing it made a deal for a pitcher.
