Twitter was merciless towards the New York Mets after a trade for Carlos Gomez fell through.

The New York Mets, by all accounts around Major League Baseball, were set to acquire outfielder Carlos Gomez from the Milwaukee Brewers. Then, as only the Mets could do, the deal fell through and isn’t going to happen before the trade deadline.

Everything about this incident went poorly for the Mets. When the deal was thought to be happening, shortstop Wilmer Flores was part of the deal going to Milwaukee. It’s safe to say that the Mets have seen better nights in their organization. It’s also safe to say that Twitter has a tendency to shine in moments just like that.
