11. Phoenix

Phoenix and the metropolitan area is one of several cities in the United States that is home to a team in each of the four major professional sports: Cardinals (NFL), Suns (NBA), Coyotes (NHL), and Diamondbacks (MLB).

Given their collective lack of success, it isn’t the professional sports teams that get Phoenix on this list. The Cardinals’ Super Bowl run with Kurt Warner and the Suns’ runs with Steve Nash certainly made things interesting, and the Cardinals and Suns both look poised to contend in their upcoming seasons.

But Phoenix and it’s beautiful weather and immaculate world class facilities keep a steady flow of major sporting events to the area. Phoenix is a regular host of the Super Bowl, hosting the game in 2008 and and 2015.

Phoenix has also hosted one of college football’s biggest bowl games, the Fiesta Bowl, as well as national championship games. The University of Phoenix stadium also hosted a WrestleMania in 2010 as well as the United States men’s national team.

Not to mention, Arizona is home to a lot of spring baseball with the Cactus League. There is also the Phoenix International Speedway, one of the final stops on NASCAR’s Chase for the Sprint Cup.
