Texans’ Arian Foster scheduled for groin surgery
By Mike Dyce
Houston Texans running back Arian Foster is scheduled for groin surgery on Monday.
The Houston Texans are looking like they’ll be without running back Arian Foster for the first half of the season. Foster is headed to Philadelphia to visit Dr. William Meyers on Friday, a “core specialist” who specializes in sports-hernia injuries.
Foster is seeking a second opinion but has surgery tentatively scheduled for Monday.
Dr. Meyers has a relationship with the Texans, he also treated defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport thinks Foster is headed to the short-term injured reserve list, which would bring him back midway through the season.
To replace Foster the Texans brought in Pierre Thomas but a deal wasn’t able to be worked out and the Texans are still looking to fill the void.
