Coming into the 2015 season, the New York Yankees faced a ton of questions. How is Masahiro Tanaka’s arm? Does Mark Teixeira have anything left after missing time with wrist injuries? What is Alex Rodriguez? Can Didi Gregorius take over at shortstop for Derek Jeter.

Many expected them to be a third place team this year and that 2014 would be a bit of a transition season as the next wave of prospects continued to develop.

The Yankees have had a lot of those questions answered in the affirmative rather than the negative and thus find themselves in first place in the American League East and six games ahead in the loss column heading into play on Thursday.

Are the Yankees a perfect team? Hardly. They have many questions within their starting rotation and their second base situation makes fans pine for the days of Robinson Cano.

One of the great things about baseball right now is the parity. There are no great teams or teams that are going to run away with everything. All you have to do is make it into the tournament and you can win the whole thing. Just ask the San Francisco Giants and the Kansas City Royals last year. Who would’ve thought they were going to make it to the World Series?

But we’re not here to dwell on the negative. We are here to look at the positive. We are here to look at five reasons why the Yankees will end up with a World Series championship and a parade down the Canyon of Heroes.
