While the MLB Trade Deadline will certainly have an impact on this season’s pennant races, it changed the course of the future for a few clubs.

The dust is just now settling from one of the wildest MLB Trade Deadlines in recent memory and we’re finally starting to get a good look at all the pieces moved.

A total of 37 trades took place from July 23 to the 4:00 pm Eastern deadline on July 31. Star players like Troy Tulowitzki, David Price, Johnny Cueto and Cole Hamels are all with new clubs, as well as a number of important role players who will shape this season’s postseason races.

There’s always a fair number of trades in late July, but it’s not often that amount of front-line talent is available, let alone actually moved. The Kansas City Royals and Toronto Blue Jays took advantage of the situation by going all-in for 2015, while others like the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers made moves that will benefit both the present and future.

On the other side of that, a few selling teams were able to add some intriguing young talent. The Detroit Tigers, Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies were among the clubs to add prospects with impact potential. While some of these top prospects moved are nearly Major League ready, some are still cutting their teeth in professional baseball and will remain projects for years to come.

While nobody can project exactly how well any prospect is going to do in the major leagues, a few stand out as the best moved at the 2015 deadline.
