What was Aldon Smith arrested for?
By Jack Crosby
49ers linebacker Aldon Smith got himself into some more trouble Thursday night, but what was it this time?
Friday morning we learned that San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith has actually not begun to clean everything up, as he was arrested and booked into a Santa Clara jail. This is just another incident in an unfortunate string of bad times for the youngster, who has been on the wrong side of the law before.
So, what is it this time that landed him behind bars?
When the initial report was released, it was not known why Smith was arrested and booked. But just a short time ago, the Santa Clara Police Department released the official charges that have been placed against the NFL star.
There are a few charges there, but the one that sticks out most of all is “DUI.” It’s been more than widely known that Smith has struggled with alcohol in the past, which has been the root of all his problems. It seemed as of late that he had gotten the issue with alcohol together, but apparently that wasn’t the case.
Hopefully, too, no one was hurt in the Hit & Run portion of these charges.
All around this is just a bad situation for Smith personally and the 49ers. It’s no secret that he’s in a contract year with the team and they were considering helping him out. With this news, though, he pretty much threw all of that out the window. If all of this sticks — all that is gone. Maybe, too, his entire career in the NFL.
