After sustaining a hamstring injury in training camp, Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Marqise Lee is expected to miss a couple of weeks.

Marqise Lee’s tenure in Jacksonville has been filled with what feels like lingering leg injuries. He missed a good portion of training camp last year, OTA’s and even three regular season games because of issues with his leg. Well fans hoping the talented young receiver can get healthy and take that next step, once again found themselves holding their breath.

In training camp, Lee suffered what appeared to be a hamstring strain according to Adam Schefter.

However, Jaguars fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Lee will only be out for two weeks, and it appears the move is more precautionary than anything.

Marqise Lee was one of the most talented receivers in his class in the 2014 NFL Draft coming out of USC. The Jaguars are hoping that he can be a major weapon for Blake Bortles for many years to come. However, if he can’t stay healthy and on the field, people could be left wondering what that potential really was.

Many were hoping that he could step in and fill that No. 2 receiver spot for the Jaguars this season, but with the rise of Allen Hurns and Lee’s lingering knee issues, he might find himself struggling to find playing time if he can’t get on the field.

In 13 games in 2014, Lee had 422 yards on 37 receptions for the Jaguars. Those weren’t bad numbers for a first-year receiver, especially playing with a first year quarterback. Still, with his high draft pick status, fans surely expected a lot more from him.

The team continued their the depth of young weapons for Bortles when they added Rashad Greene from Florida State in the fifth round of draft. If Greene shows any promise this season, much like Hurns did last year, the Jaguars will find themselves in a good spot having talented young receivers in Hurns, Greene, Lee and the very talented Allen Robinson. It might be a good problem for the Jaguars to have, but for Lee, he has to realize the other guys are looking to step up and get their playing time.

There might not be any for him, if he isn’t healthy. The good news is, that he will get his chance when he returns in two weeks to show why the team drafted him so high.
