Baseball’s hottest team looks ready to party like it’s 1993.

The Toronto Blue Jays now have the longest streak in Major League Baseball without making the playoffs, thanks to the Kansas City Royals‘ run last season. Though, the Blue Jays may be well on their way to ending their streak this season. They already had the best offense in the league and then added Troy Tulowitzki and Ben Revere before the trade deadline. Their rotation didn’t have a horse out front, so they went out and acquired David Price. Their bullpen had some issues. They picked up Latroy Hawkins and Mark Lowe. The team is gearing up.

Toronto is red hot right now, winning nine of its last 10 games, and the Jays sit just 2.5 games behind the first place New York Yankees and in a Wild Card spot.

The Blue Jays are in a great spot right now and could be quite a dangerous team to face in the playoffs, thanks to a top flight offense, an ace to head what could be a pretty solid rotation, and a stabilized bullpen.

As I talked about with the Yankees, any team is capable of winning it all this year. There is no truly dominant team right now – no 1998 Yankees, for example. It’s going to be who gets hot at the right time, and the way the Blue Jays are built, it could most certainly be their year.

The Blue Jays are looking to bring the championship north of the border for the first time since 1993. Here are five reasons why the Blue Jays just might accomplish that feat.
