Wrestling isn’t real, but sometimes the drama involved in the shows is and action sometimes needs to be taken.

Everyone likes to harp on the WWE and wrestling in general for not being real. But sometimes the drama that unfolds in the ring becomes real thanks to dopey morons who huffed too much glue before attending a match.

That was true of one Canadian fan who threw a briefcase at Roman Reigns during a recent match.

According to The Canadian Press, the fan who threw the briefcase at Roman Reigns has been arrested and banned from all future WWE events. He wasn’t, however, charged with a crime after he apologized.

"Edwards says that no one was hurt and no charges were laid after an apology was given by the fan.The 31-year-old male has been banned from any WWE wrestling shows in the future."

First off — he got out of charges after he apologized? That has to be the most Canadian thing ever. But beyond that, this is a precedent that the WWE does not want to set but it has to. You can’t have fans throwing things at the wrestlers, just like you can’t have someone running up on stage during a play.

Think back to the Montreal Screwjob in 1997, and how Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart were fighting in the crowd and they weren’t being abused. That was the late 90s, we’d like to think we’ve evolved as a society since then, but here we are with a dude throwing things at Roman Reigns trying to get his 15 minutes of fame.

He deserves to be banned, as an example to all others who would even consider replicating this incident. It’s surprising that this hasn’t happened sooner, but the WWE needs to stamp this out hard and fast as it’s a dangerous slope the company can’t afford to go down.
