Drew Brees put it on a rope to nail a moving target at practice.

How much does Drew Brees have left in the tank? At least enough to hit a field marker fastened to a moving cart during practice.

By my (un)scientific estimation, that means Brees (age 36) can play for at least another, oh, 30 years. You know, as long as there’s no line rushing at him, and his targets are uncovered while going across the middle. At that rate, just imagine how many generations of NOLA folks will name their sons and daughters after ol’ Drew.

Saints fans have to be licking their chops just thinking about Brees uncorking bullets like the one above to

Jimmy Graham and

Kenny Stills

Brandin Cooks and Marques Colston this upcoming season.

All jokes aside: New Orleans looks like it could be in for a rebound season. The team picked up a left tackle in the first round of the NFL Draft to protect Brees, and then from there loaded up on defense. While losing Graham stings, he’s injury prone, and paying out the nose for a dinged up tight end who doesn’t block (and getting a solid o-lineman in return) was a savvy business/roster move. Factor in that New Orleans plays in the worst division in football, and if there’s any team to be a trendy bounce-back pick it’s the Saints.
