Geno Smith is going to miss the next 6-10 weeks after breaking his jaw in a fight with a teammate — but who exactly was that teammate?

We didn’t think that the New York Jets could get any worse — and then Tuesday happened. The Jets weren’t that great of a team with Geno Smith under center but they’re a worse team without him. That’s the case we’re looking at after Smith was sucker punched in the Jets locker room and will miss the next 6-10 weeks.

This is so atypically the Jets that it’s almost fitting that it happened. The guy who broke his jaw is a 24- year old outside linebacker from Louisiana Tech named Ikemefuna Enemkpali — who was promptly released after breaking the jaw of the franchise quarterback.

This is just such a Jets thing that it’s perfect. You can’t get any more dysfunctional than this and this couldn’t have happened to any other organization than the Jets. It seriously couldn’t have.

But more about this guy who essentially ended his NFL career without injuring himself, rather injuring someone else. The Jets have replaced him with Javier Arenas, who is a cornerback which tells you right there how uninterested in having any remnants of this dude on their roster.

Ikemefuna Enemkpali was a sixth-round draft pick back in 2014 for the Jets but wasn’t really an impact player in his first year. To this day, he has three career tackles — which might end up being all he tallies in his career.

If the Patriots sign this guy, it would be the ultimate Bill Belichick troll of all-time. It won’t happen and this guys career is pretty much over after this but what a hell of a way to go out.
