The Houston Rockets are looking to make a run at the Western Conference Finals and with their schedule released they know the path.
The Houston Rockets took the next step last season, James Harden leading the team to the Western Conference Finals. There, they ran into the hot Golden State Warriors and were eliminated for the playoffs.
Heading into the 2015-16 season, the Rockets are looking to make a run at the NBA Finals and the Larry O’Brien trophy. The Rockets didn’t make a whole lot of moves this summer, keeping their squad mostly intact. They did lose Josh Smith to the Los Angeles Clippers, another team looking to make a run.
You can bet that the Rockets have that first meeting with the Clippers and former teammate Josh Smith circled on their calendars. That might be the only game out of the ordinary that the Rockets are looking forward to this year.
As always, games against in-state rivals the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks will highlight the schedule. The Rockets and Spurs game could be an interesting match up because of the Spurs’ newest player, power forward LaMarcus Aldridge. It will be a game that determines who will be the king of Texas and a team they could meet in the Western Conference Finals.
