The NBA season is right around the corner, and the Miami Heat know who they have to prepare for on their 2015-16 schedule.
It was a rough season last year for the Miami Heat, who were operating without the talents of LeBron James on their roster for the first time since 2009-10. This not only meant a failed trip to the NBA Finals, it meant a failed trip to the postseason — as in, they didn’t even make it in.
Things are going to change in 2015-16 for the Heat though, as the team revamped in a subtle but interesting way and are primed to make a run in the East at one of the mid-level playoff seeds. They won’t be winning the conference in the regular season, but they will be better than they were last year — which was still good enough to be in contention for a playoff spot late in the season.
With the re-signing of Dwyane Wade and Goran Dragic, as well as the addition of Amare Stoudemire and the development of Hassan Whiteside, the Heat are going to be an exciting team to watch this season. They aren’t the most youthful team in the NBA, but they have the veteran talent in Wade, Bosh and Stoudemire to balance with the youthful talents of Dragic and Whiteside.
How far that all takes them is going to be hard to determine, but taking a look at their schedule will give us our first good idea of where we can expect the Heat to go in 2015-16 and when we can expect them to surge — if at all.
