The NBA Schedule is being released, and that means we know which games to circle on ESPN’s TV schedule and who is going to get a national stage.
After a summer of waiting and trying to figure out what the NBA schedule will look like, we finally know. The schedules were released on Wednesday and with it comes the announcement of the national television games that will be aired this season on the ESPN family of networks. As usual, there are the Sunday Showcase games on ABC, but ESPN has stepped up it’s game to offer as much coverage on the NBA as they can, and that continues this year with a new slate of games the network will be airing all season long.
They still have natural frenemies in TNT, but ESPN is going to be transitioning itself into a new era of basketball coverage now that the Bill Simmons era is truly over and done with. Simmons wasn’t a big part of the coverage team last year, but now that he is officially done with ESPN, it will be interesting to see how their basketball coverage is approached.
The crew of Sage Steele, Jalen Rose and Doug Collins already have a revamped intro for their new pregame show and the train is going to keep on rolling without Simmons a part of things. The crew did a more than solid job last season with their coverage and with the slate of games ESPN has this year, they should continue striding in the right direction.
Here’s a look at every nationally televised game that ESPN will carry during the 2015-16 NBA season:
