The 2015 National Basketball Association schedule has been released. The NBA did a great job of giving us great matchups on opening night and across the major holidays, most notably Christmas and Martin Luther King Day. The league was also nice enough to give the nation seven evenings of high comedy by scheduling the New York Knicks on ESPN and TNT.

Anytime the NBA can get the Knicks in front of the nation, it has to be done. There are other terrible franchises (we are all looking at you, Philadelphia 76ers) but nothing quite hits the funny bone like watching New York. Head coach Derek Fisher looks like he is watching the zombie apocalypse on a nightly basis while you can almost see Carmelo Anthony counting the days until free agency (Relax, Melo, there are years to go. Enjoy.).
Here are the seven dates to mark off on your calendar. Unless you are a Knicks fan, then go out and immediately book a vacation to a foreign land that doesn’t broadcast NBA games.
Oct. 29 vs. Atlanta (TNT)
Nov. 4 at Cleveland (ESPN)
Dec. 4 vs. Brooklyn (ESPN)Dec. 10 at Sacramento (TNT)
Jan. 6 at Miami (ESPN)
Jan. 28 at Toronto (TNT)
Feb. 9 vs. Washington (TNT)
Out of those seven games, one stands alone as the Dumpster Fire Classic. The matchup against the Kings on Dec. 10 should actually be taken as a major promotional opportunity. The loser of that game should be forced to play the month of January in the D-League.
The Knicks used to be one of the great franchises in sports. Now, they represent complete ineptitude.
