Blake Griffin is a really, really good basketball player. Too often people focus on the fact that he is a very good dunker to diminish the rest of his game and pretend that he isn’t actually that good. Luckily for Team USA purposes, and especially for Team USA scrimmage purposes, we don’t need Blake Griffin to do more than just be really, really good at dunking. Which he is as he demonstrated tonight.

That is a really powerful jam from Blake. It is also a pretty good feed from Michael Carter-Williams on an underratedly tough pass. Trying to time things perfectly with a guy that you don’t really play with often is hard enough but doing it while throwing the ball perfectly off the glass and getting out-of-the-way is even harder.
Also a huge hat tip to Demarcus Cousins on this play for his pretty blatant (though uncalled) offensive foul against Bradley Beal. Boogie wasn’t about to let this dunk get stopped by Beal accidentally wandering into the play and pretending to play defense. As always Boogie just had everyone’s best interests in mind and made sure we are all happy.
The dunk was one of just a few highlights from the scrimmage which has seen players do everything and anything to avoid injury, which is the best thing for everyone. But even when he doesn’t need to play hard it is nice to see Blake deliver the dunk goods.
