Browns defense leading jersey sales

You never expect to read that the Cleveland Browns are leading any category except depression. However, the Browns have found their way to the top of the heap in 2015. The Browns are leading jersey sales at DICK’S Sporting Goods for defensive players, coming in ahead of the Miami Dolphins who rank second, and the Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks, who tied for third.
Cleveland might be at the top of this list for a few reasons. The Browns have some terrific defensive players in cornerback Joe Haden, outside linebacker Paul Kruger, nose tackle Danny Shelton and safety Tashaun Gipson. In fact, Haden has the top-selling jersey across the NFL.
In addition, Cleveland does not leave many choices on offense At this point, who is running out to buy a Johnny Manziel or Brian Hartline jersey? Maybe if you like Dwayne Bowe, that is the ticket. The only offensive player worth getting the jersey of is left tackle Joe Thomas, who is headed to the Hall of Fame.
It is a bit surprising that the Seahawks don’t own this space. Seattle is one of the rare NFL teams that is known for its defense and has plenty of players who should be driving jersey sales like Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas, not to mention Michael Bennett and Bobby Wagner.
The Dolphins ranking second can’t be a shocker. After acquiring Ndamukong Suh in free agency, jersey sales for that side were going to see a hefty spike. There are plenty of other stars on defense for the Dolphins as well including Brent Grimes, Olivier Vernon and Cameron Wake.
