Texans wide receiver Deandre Hopkins burned Redskins defensive back DeAngelo Hall on Twitter.

Oh man, this is just cruel.

Yesterday the sports blog-o-sphere banded together to poke fun at DeAngelo Hall, who had his ankles annihilated by Houston Texans wide receiver Deandre Hopkins.

If you have not yet seen the video, a warning: what you are about to witness is graphic. Please make sure your children are out of the room, or at least have their innocent eyes covered.

Feeling a bit salty, Hall hopped on Twitter this morning to throw some shade at the younger Hopkins:

Not satisfied with merely shattering Hall’s ankles, Hopkins decided to take the veteran’s soul as well:

Yikes. Talk about adding insult to injury.

Let this be a lesson to all you young kids out there: If you wind up getting embarrassed by someone, just take your L and move on. It’s the mature thing to do, and it will save you a lot of grief, trust me. It’s the whole “know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em” principle. Do not — I repeat, do not — try to fire back and flip the tables. You have no leverage; you will just wind up looking even more foolish. I mean, when you have Ian freaking Rapoport dropping fire emojis at your expense, you know you’ve made a big mistake:

(Oh, for those wondering, the Houston Texans and Washington Redskins aren’t scheduled to play this season. Lame.)
