In case you were not aware, Thursday is National Left-Handers Day. It’s a day for the southpaws to get rowdy and thump their chest a bit, letting all the right-handed people know that they are the freaks.

In the National Football League, almost all of the quarterbacks have been right-handed. When a quarterback throws with his left hand, it stuns you for a second. For the receivers trying to catch passes, they have to adjust to the ball hitting them differently. Jerry Rice famously talked about the difference of trying to look in a ball from Joe Montana, a righty, compared to Steve Young, a noted lefty.

For the purposes of this piece, we look at the top five left-handed quarterbacks of all-time. We honor those who were brave enough to do it differently, breaking away from the right-handed pack. Truth be told, most right-handed quarterbacks are monsters, and the lefties showed us what true greatness is all about.
