Top five left-handed NFL quarterbacks of all-time
2. Ken Stabler
Stabler passed away this year, reigniting the debate of whether or not he should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The lefty has not been enshrined to this point, with many pointing out that Stabler was only elite for a few seasons during the 1970s with the Oakland Raiders. From 1970-84, Stabler played for three teams and made the Pro Bowl four times along with two All-Pro teams.
Stabler won the Super Bowl in 1976 with the Raiders, leading the team to a 13-1 record before defeating the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings in the playoffs. That season, Stabler threw for 2,737 yards with a career-high 27 touchdowns. Stabler had terrific weapons throughout much of his career with Oakland, led by Fred Biletnikoff and Cliff Branch.
After finishing up with the Raiders in 1979, Stabler finished quietly with the New Orleans Saints and Houston Oilers. In totality, Stabler threw for 27,938 yards and 194 touchdowns, albeit along with 222 interceptions. Stabler was one of the most clutch quarterbacks of all-time, earning the moniker of “The Snake” for his ability to pull out victories at the end.
