LeBron James said he’d bet on himself to take down Michael Jordan in a game of one-on-one
LeBron James is looking to go into the 2015-16 NBA season and capture the championship that eluded the city of Cleveland last season and for decades of seasons previously. However, LeBron has had a busy offseason this summer and had another major announcement to make on Friday.

In an exclusive to TODAY, James told the show’s Willie Geist that if it were LeBron in his prime going one-on-one with Michael Jordan in his prime, James believes he would be victorious:
LeBron also said that it essentially wasn’t a fair question because he would take himself over anyone. I guess that’s the type of confidence required to be one of the greatest to ever play in the NBA. James noted that he and Jordan would basically have to be drug off the court if they started going at it.
The actual exclusive announcement was that LeBron will be giving kids who complete his “I Promise” program will receive a guaranteed four-year scholarship to the University of Akron. That’s an incredibly generous offering on LeBron’s part, but his fuel for the LeBron vs. Jordan debate is what has people buzzing.
Coming to a definitive conclusion as to who would win a game of one-on-one between two all-time greats is an impossible task. There’s always going to be dissension on either side of the argument. And of course Jordan is going to say that he’d win while LeBron says that he’d be victorious. Either way, this is surely only going to get people discussing it further and, as always, get the LeBron-haters nice and fired up.
