NASCAR goes racing again in Michigan, this time for the Pure Michigan 400. Who will leave the track a winner as The Chase draws near?

With just four races to go until The Chase, things are beginning to heat up in Sprint Cup Racing. Two weeks in a row, races have ended with the driver in first running out of gas and being passed for the win.

This week, NASCAR returns to Michigan International Speedway for it’s second race of the season at the track, the Pure Michigan 400. With a 2-mile track on the docket, the fuel game will once again be a priority for teams as they race toward victory lane.

Last week at Watkins Glen, Joey Logano was the benefactor after race leader Kevin Harvick ran out of gas on the final lap. The week prior, it was Logano who had run out of fuel at Pocono. With the win, Logano cemented himself as one of the favorites as The Chase draws near.

In fact, the three best drivers this summer, Logano, Harvick and Kyle Busch, all finished in the top-3, and left many believing the trio to be the favorites to walk away with a championship. While Watkins Glen featured lower speeds because of all the twists and turns of road racing, the speeds will pick back up on Sunday.

The first time NASCAR ran at the track this summer, it was Kurt Busch who claimed victory after rain shortened the race. At Watkins Glen, Busch stealthily finished in the top-5 and put together a good run. He will be a favorite heading into this week’s race.
