player. 147.
The New Jersey Nets full embraced the cartoonish logo style change of the 90s and 2000s, but they at one point in time went with a subtler approach to their look. You have to go back to the late 70s for this, but the Nets uniforms over the course of a decade were some of the most interesting uniforms we’ve ever seen.

While teams nowadays like to harken back to their roots with their uniforms, the Nets were way ahead of their time in throwing back. The team flexed its ABA muscles by keeping most of that look intact throughout its infancy in the NBA and into the later years of the franchise.

These just scream America and you can’t represent the American Basketball Association properly without packing some subtle America into your uniform. The Nets are now on the black uniform bandwagon in Brooklyn, but these will forever hold a special place in the hearts of basketball fans for just how out-there they were, and how much they remind us the Nets never were and never will be the Harlem Globetrotters.
.
