But not every team with a new look these days has shied away from the craze. The Dallas Mavericks have made their new uniforms work in a way that is making them iconic, but there’s a lot to love about the threads they wore just prior to the change.</p> <p>The subtlety of ‘Dallas’ over the front of the uniforms just works so well, as does the retro color scheme that is far removed from what the team rolls with these days. That doesn’t mean there’s anything inherently wrong with the current look for the Mavericks, but don’t go knocking these uniforms just because they’re different from today.</p> <p>For a city that is obsessed with new things, these vintage Mavs uniforms remind us of a time when new wasn’t really all that flashy. Strangely it works in a way that makes the old feel new in a stylish way. It’s cheesy Dallas, and that’s the Dallas the world loves to visit in its collective memory. </p>
