The San Diego Chargers signed quarterback Philip Rivers to a four-year extension.

The San Diego Chargers quietly announced on Saturday night that quarterback Philip Rivers has been signed to a four-year extension. That will keep Rivers in a Chargers uniform through 2019, though no financial details have been revealed yet so we don’t know for how much.

There were some rumors of some disharmony between the Chargers and Rivers centered around the future of the franchise. The Chargers are linked to a move to Los Angeles, a move that Rivers is reportedly adamantly against and not a fan of, even at one time pointing out that his contract would expire before a move north.

If that were the case, it doesn’t appear to be anymore which makes you wonder what brought the Chargers and Rivers together to get an extension done. Surely the Chargers didn’t want to lose a quarterback of Rivers’ caliber, so perhaps he came around to the idea of Los Angeles.
