Most of the action is in the evening games tonight. With 26 teams in action, there are plenty of previous stats to mull over tonight. Let’s separate the what from the chaff, so to speak, and see who can win you some money.

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science.

Here are my FanDuel hitter picks for August 15:

Next: Let's Start With The Corner Infielders

Aug 14, 2015; New York City, NY, USA; Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Aramis Ramirez (17) hits a sacrifice fly against the New York Mets during the tenth inning at Citi Field. The Pirates defeated the Mets 3-2 in ten innings. Mandatory Credit: Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

First Base:

Best Bet:

Eric Hosmer, Royals ($4,000): With Lucas Duda sitting again tonight against Pittsburgh, Hosmer moves up a notch. He is 3 for 6 with a RBI off of Matt Shoemaker. It looks good for Hosmer to get some solid points tonight.

Honorable Mention:

Albert Pujols, Angels ($3,600): Pujols has 7 hit and 3 walks in 29 at bats against Johnny Cueto. However, he doesĀ  have only one RBI against him. The options are pretty slim at first base tonight as far as past history.

Third Base:

Best Bet:

Aramis Ramirez, Pirates ($2,700): Ramirez is 6 for 21 off of Jon Niese with a double, a walk, two home runs, and four RBI. He could be a great cheap source of points tonight to give you money to spend elsewhere.

Honorable Mention:

Nolan Arenado, Rockies ($4,800): Arenado is 4 for 13 with a pair of doubles off of Andrew Cashner. He has no other counting stats, but it is Coors Field. Anything can happen.

Next: On To The Middle Infield!

Jul 20, 2015; Denver, CO, USA; Colorado Rockies second baseman DJ LeMahieu (9) runs to first base after being walked during the fourth inning against the Texas Rangers at Coors Field. Mandatory Credit: Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Second Base:

Best Bet:

DJ LeMahieu, Rockies ($3,900): DJ is 5 for 10 against Andrew Cashner in his career. He only has one double and no counting stats, but he will at least get you points.

Honorable Mention:

Omar Infante, Royals ($2,200): Infante is only 1 for 3 off of Matt Shoemaker, but that one hit is a four run home run. Or a grand slam if you prefer that term. He could get you some decent points at a very low price.

Shortstop:

Best Bet:

Elvis Andrus, Rangers ($3,000): Elvis has not left the building against Chris Archer, but he is 4 for 9 with two walks. That is a lot of points for you.

Honorable Mention:

Alcides Escobar, Royals ($2,300): Escobar is 3 for 4 with a RBI against Matt Shoemaker. That bodes well for those of us looking to spend on a pitcher and get some points on the cheap.

Next: Who Is The Best Outfielder?

Aug 14, 2015; Kansas City, MO, USA; Kansas City Royals left fielder Ben Zobrist (18) hits a double against the Los Angeles Angels in the sixth inning at Kauffman Stadium. Mandatory Credit: John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

Catcher:

Best Bet:

Salvador Perez, Royals ($2,400): Perez is back in the lineup at the right time. He is 4 for 6 off of Matt Shoemaker. He doesn’t have any counting stats, but you can do worse than a couple of points at this price.

Honorable Mention:

Francisco Cervelli, Pirates ($2,700): With Wilin Rosario no longer eligible at catcher for FanDuel purposes, we have to go a little deeper. That lands us on Cervelli, who is 2 for 3 with a RBI against Jon Niese.

Outfield:

Best Bets:

Andrew McCutchen, Pirates ($5,100): He is the highest priced hitter in the late tournaments, but heĀ might just be worth it. He is 7 for 15 in his career against Jon Niese with three walks, three doubles, a home run, and four RBI against him. He is about as close to a lock as you can get.

Shane Victorino, Angels ($2,200): There is no guarantee that Victorino will play, but if he does, he could be a very cheap source of points. He is 5 for 10 with two home runs and three RBI off of Johnny Cueto.

Lorenzo Cain, Royals ($4,200): Cain is 4 for 6 with a double, a triple, and two RBI off of Matt Shoemaker. The Royals promise to have plenty of base runners tonight, making most of the team a strong play.

Ben Zobrist, Royals ($3,600): Zobrist is 6 for 9 with three doubles, a homer, and three RBI. Play ’em if you got ’em in KC tonight!

Honorable Mention:

Ichiro Suzuki, Marlins ($2,600): Ichiro is 34 for 115 (.296) off of John Lackey in his career with six walks, six doubles, a triple, a home run, and seven RBI. That makes him a strong cheap play.

Josh Hamilton, Rangers ($2,800): Hamilton is 3 for 10 with a double, a home run, and three RBI off of Chris Archer. The other seven at bats? All strikeouts.

Good luck out there tonight. Check here for the pitcher picks!
