Before the drivers could get through turn one of the first lap at the Pure Michigan 400, David Ragan spun out on the track and brought out the caution flag.
With the high speeds at Michigan International Speedway, there is always a wreck or incident within the first 12 laps of the race. On Sunday, David Ragan continued the streak as he spun out before the race could even finish one lap.
In fact, he didn’t just spin out on the first lap, he spun out on the first turn. As Ragan had inside position, his car got loose and he ended up spinning around in front of several cars.
Miraculously, everyone managed to get out of Ragan’s way as he regained control of his car.

The best part of the spin out, was that Kyle Busch, who was starting in the rear because he went to a backup car, stayed way behind everyone else because he knew there would be a wreck on the very first lap.
Watch closely and you will see Busch slowly make his way past Ragan as he gets his car turned around. With Kyle Busch fighting for a spot in “The Chase” he wasn’t going to take any chances, and it turned out his prediction of a wreck on the first lap was correct.
As for David Ragan, he lost a lot of spots, but didn’t take any real damage, so it’s not all bad.
