The last time the Los Angeles Angels appeared in the World Series, the Rally Monkey was a topic of conversation. Yeah, you remember the Rally Monkey? That was 13 years ago and now this team is trying to make its second playoff appearance in as many years.

Last year, the Angels were swept by the wild-card winning Kansas City Royals in the first round, but this season has a different feel to it. While Los Angeles no longer has Josh Hamilton on the roster, as he’s basically disappeared from stardom, the Angels are loaded with talent.

In case you don’t know, probably only if you’ve been living under a rock, the Angels have the upper hand in terms of the best player on any team in the league. Mike Trout is the league’s top player right now and the reigning MVP will look to win his first World Series crown. He’s having another solid year, but unless he can lead the Angels to the playoffs, MVP could be out of the question.

With a strong rotation, for the most part, and a devastating middle of the order, the Angels have become one of the best teams in the American League.

Although they’re still hovering around two games out of first place in the AL West, the Angels have what it takes to make a division title race go down to the wire and beat out the current first-place Astros.
