The long days of summer are quickly coming to an end which means its time for Major League Baseball playoff races to start heating up.  There is plenty of intrigue left this regular season although several teams have separated themselves as real contenders while others have been left behind.  Tonight, there are ten games on tap in the MLB with ten teams getting the day off. Still, with 20 teams in action there is a solid pool to choose from for fantasy baseball owners.  If you’re planning on putting together a lineup today, make sure to check out my top ten batter vs pitcher matchups on the following slides to find some matchups to target.

Each morning of the baseball season, you can find this kind of post here on Fansided focused on the top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups of the day.  I choose my top options each day based on each batter’s individual history against the probable starting pitcher they are scheduled to face. There are some options tonight that have very little history since there are so many young arms on the mound, so this metric doesn’t work for all matchups.  It can, however, reveal some matchups which are too good to pass up.  Just because a batter has a good history against the opposition starter doesn’t guarantee future results, but batter vs pitcher history is definitely an important factor consider for your daily fantasy baseball lineup or your season-long team.

For all Fansided’s fantasy baseball coverage check out the fantasy baseball hub. If you have any questions about our coverage in general or specifically about your lineup for today, you can find me @FansidedFantasy on Twitter where I’ll be happy to help you out any way that I can.

If you are new to the daily league fantasy baseball league format, one option to consider is FanDuel where you can find daily competitions for each day of the MLB season. You can get there by clicking the link in the box above or the link at the end of the post. FanDuel is just one of the many sites you can play daily fantasy baseball on, and each format varies a bit based on scoring and roster structure.

As I mentioned earlier, there are a number of young arms with little track record against their opponents tonight, so with a limited schedule my top 10 is stretched thin.  There are still 10 options to consider, but the risk with taking them is higher than taking players who have longer track records against their opponents like the list typically features

I always do my best to include a variety of positions and teams to help you find as many fits as possible, and even with the limited options I have every position represented except for 3B. Let’s jump right in to the top ten batter vs pitcher matchups for this Monday to get our work week started with a win.
