Markus Wheaton-Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers continue their search for a compliment to Antonio Brown in the passing game, and the battle for the #2 WR spot has been a focus throughout the preseason.  While Martavis Bryant is getting the fantasy buzz and an over-hyped ADP, Wheaton has quietly been getting looks ahead of him throughout the preseason.

Right now it looks like Bryant will be the big-play specialist with Wheaton settling into the more consistent contributor.  Wheaton is entering the third year of his time with the Steelers after being drafted out of Oregon State. He has gotten props from Big Ben as a “breakout player” this season and seems to be adjusting well to his move to the slot in three-receiver sets.

Wheaton is definitely worth a late-round pick if he is playing ever down in Pittsburgh where they throw the ball a ton and utilize all their receiving weapons.  Last year, Wheaton was a disappointment, but don’t let that stop you from adding him to your fantasy football WR corps as an end-of-the-draft selection this season.
