Dwayne Bowe-Cleveland Browns

Was the problem in Kansas City Dwayne Bowe or was it Andy Reid’s offense with Alex Smith at QB that killed Bowe’s value the last few years?  We should finally get an answer to that question this season as Bowe heads to Cleveland where he should be set up for a bounce back season.  How far he rebounds will determine his fantasy value this season.

Last year, Bowe faded to just 60 catches and 754 yards while failing to find the end zone.  It was the first year of his career without a touchdown and a huge decline from his monster 2010 when he posted 1162 yards and 15 touchdowns.  While it’s unrealistic to expect Bowe to return to those numbers, he definitely could re-emerge as a solid fantasy football WR.

He’ll definitely get the opportunity in Cleveland where Josh Gordon will again miss the season due to suspension. Brian Hartline, Taylor Gabriel, Andrew Hawkins, and Travis Benjamin will get some attention too, but Bowe should easily lead the team in targets if he stays healthy.

Due to his role, he is a high-floor option with little risk of being a total bust, but his decline the last few years, an uncertain QB situation, and the Browns offense do limit his upside.  If he’s available at the end of your draft, he’s worth a flier.
