After he took yet another big hit on Thursday night, Robert Griffin III is being evaluated for a possible head injury

Thursday night the Washington Redskins are taking on the Detroit Lions in preseason NFL action and, well, it just was not the night for one Robert Griffin III. Once again, the injury bug may have bitten the former Heisman Trophy winner from Baylor.

In the first half of this one, Griffin was getting banged around pretty badly by the Lions’ defense. He was hit often, and he was definitely hit pretty hard. Well, after a fumble in the first half, Griffin went to dive for the ball. Unfortunately, as he was trying to get it back, he was fallen on and had to leave the game.

If you missed the hit, you can see it here.

Right after, Griffin was taken off the field and he was deemed questionable to return at first. Well, just a short while ago, the Redskins announced that he will be out the rest of the game as they evaluate him for a possible head injury as well as a stinger.

Not good news for someone whose main purpose this season was to show that he could stay healthy and return to his rookie form.
