Leonard Williams proved to the New York Jets that they made the right choice on Friday against the Falcons
In the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft, the New York Jets were more than happy to select Leonard Williams out of USC, who made a pretty nice career for himself in college by being one of the most dominant defensive linemen in the country. On Friday night, he definitely made them feel like they made the right choice.
The Jets ate taking on the Atlanta Falcons on Friday night in Week 2 preseason action. Well, early on in the second quarter, the Falcons were backed up near their own goal line, which we know is a place that you never really want to be. Williams showed us all why that’s where an offense doesn’t want to be.
Before we all knew, Williams had not only recorded the first sack of his career on Matt Ryan, but it was for a safety as well.
First pro sack. First pro safety. Same time.

Now that right there is proving your worth. People were scratching their heads a bit when Williams fell just a tad in the order of the draft, and now we see why. The Jets are pretty happy, though.
