Jushin “Thunder” Liger earned a victory over Tyler Breeze at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn
With arguably as much anticipation leading up to it than SummerSlam itself, NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn held no punches to kick off their show. The bout featuring Tyler Breeze and the legendary Jushin “Thunder” Liger started the show. Seeing Liger walk down to a WWE ring for the first time ever was enough to have any wrestling fan up out of their seat:

The match started out with the two competitors jockeying for control of the match. Liger gained control slightly in the early going with some creative submission work:

He took that opportunity to mock Breeze. Not only did he perform Breeze’s signature pose on the top turnbuckle, but even took his selfie stick and struck a pose.
However, Breeze was fired up by Liger’s mocking, hitting Liger with a mean Supermodel Kick. Breeze then took to punishing his legendary opponent, working in a methodical yet punishing fashion. Ever the innovator of offense, Liger fought back with some nice counters, but Breeze caught Liger by getting his knees up when Thunder came off the top rope.
As Breeze tried to take control back from Breeze, Liger was able to again counter. That led to Liger hitting a Somersault Plancha off the apron to Breeze:

Liger then rolled his opponent back into the ring and was able to put him down with a running Liger Bomb. That, of course, was enough for the three-count and for Liger to pick up the win:
