The Vaudevillains defeated Blake and Murphy at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn to become the new NXT Tag Team Champions
The Vaudevillains have been searching in recent weeks for someone to combat Alexa Bliss as they challenged Blake and Murphy for the NXT Tag Team Championships. They found just the right person at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn as Bliss went to slap The Vaudevillains again when Aiden English and Simon Gotch made the way for Blue Pants:

With the odds now evened, the match was underway and The Vaudevillains took control early on in the proceedings. Gotch worked some nice submission moves into the flow:
He then eventually tagged in English to continue the work on the tag champs, including a beautiful double armdrag:

Unfortunately for them, English got caught while he was standing on the apron and the champs took control from there. Blake and Murphy isolated English a great deal, hitting him with a multitude of suplexes and some devastating double-team maneuvers:

However, Gotch was able to force the champs to collide and eventually get Gotch in with the hot tag. Gotch ran wild on Blake and Murphy and got Murphy up on his shoulders looking to finish the match. However, Murphy was able to counter that and take out the champs. That led to a nice tower of doom spot which almost led to a win for The Vaudevillains, but instead a kickout at two:
Bliss then tried to get involved in the proceedings, but Blue Pants was there to take her out:

The distraction almost worked enough for Blake and Murphy, though, as they tried to get a quick roll-up victory. After that nearfall, The Vaudevillains rebounded to hit the Whirly Dervish and pick up the win, making them the new NXT Tag Team Champions:
