NFL’s 30 best teams that didn’t win the Super Bowl
14. 2011 Green Bay Packers
Most of you will remember this team. Green Bay was an absolute juggernaut in 2011, rolling to a 15-1 record on the back of an insanely prolific offense that included Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Greg Jennings. Green Bay was nothing short of unbeatable the first three months of the season, racking up a 13-0 mark before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Packers scored more than 30 points 11 times in the regular season, including consecutive games of 45 points in October. Green Bay barely ran the ball, with the leading rusher being James Starks with 578 yards. However, Rodgers was in the midst of an MVP season, throwing for 4,643 yards and 45 touchdowns. Defensively, Charles Woodson led the club with seven interceptions while Clay Matthews contributed six sacks.
After earning home-field advantage throughout the postseason, Green Bay inexplicably laid an egg against the New York Giants in the Divisional round. The game was punctuated by the Giants hitting on a first half-ending Hail Mary. New York won the game, 37-20, providing a stunning defeat to the Packers. The Giants went on to win the Super Bowl.
