WWE Rumors: John Cena squashed Charlotte taking Divas title from Nikki Bella

According to a report, the only reason Nikki Bella is carrying around the Divas title right now is because of John Cena
Right now in WWE, one of the best things going is the Divas Revolution. Recently, Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks hit the main roster and are setting out to change the game. Of course, the ultimate goal is for one of them to eventually take the Divas Championship from Nikki Bella, which actually might have happened already if not for one person — John Cena. Yes, that John Cena.
According to a report from WrestleZone.com, the original plans for the Divas Revolution called for Charlotte to come up to the main roster and take the title off Nikki immediately, much like Paige did to AJ Lee in 2014. However, Cena went to whoever he had to and lobbied for his girlfriend to keep her strap.
If this is true, then that’s juts a downright disgrace. It’s pretty much common knowledge that all three of those women are miles ahead of Nikki Bella when it comes to wrestling, and in reality, she should not even have that title around her shoulder in the first place. Yet, there are some people that have the stroke in WWE that others don’t, and this isn’t the first time that we’ve heard about Cena potentially squashing something great. You know, remember that whole Nexus thing back in 2010?
Eventually, one of the three new Divas will get that belt from Nikki, but only after she’s broken the record for longest-reigning Divas champ of all-time. The record books might state that Nikki held the belt for the longest amount of time, but at least after it’s over, the belt will be on a woman who can actually wrestle in the ring, which is what we all really want in the end.
