This Pennsylvania High School really wanted to make their field looks special, so they decided to paint it gold because why not

In the game of college football, coloring your football field is something that is unusually becoming the norm. Boise State has always had their blue field, and most recently, Eastern Washington painted their entire turf red. Some like the trend, while others are playing the “get off my lawn” card and don’t. But the fact is that it’s happening slowly bu surely.

Apparently, the trend is beginning to make its way to the high school ranks, and one Pennsylvania High School really went all out to make their turf look unique.

Belle Vernon Area High School in Pennsylvania recently spent over $1 million to renovate their stadium. As part of these renovations, they decided that to give the turf that unique look, they’d just paint it gold.

Well, there’s really no better way to say, “Hey, we just dropped some ridiculous cash on renovating our football stadium” than to just paint the field you’re going to play on gold. That pretty much gets the whole point across.

In addition to the new paint job, they also added some new lighting and a nice new scoreboard.
