Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin took his team to see “Straight Outta Compton” though he had never heard of Dr. Dre, and enjoyed the movie anyways.
Straight Outta Compton is arguably the hit movie of the summer, August at least, and has fans flocking to theaters. Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin took his team to see the movie.

First, it is cool that Philbin took the Dolphins players to see this movie. Second, how has he never heard of Dr. Dre?
Was he completely oblivious to all the headphones his players were wearing, then weren’t allowed to wear without covering logos? Or did he see all these “Beats By Dre” headphones and not know or care what the Dre part of the title referred to?
Or consider the fact that Philbin has been coaching for decades and Dr. Dre has been an integral part of the music scene for over 25 years. He has had to have been in a locker room when a Dr. Dre song was playing at some point over the course of his career though he might have been completely oblivious.
Can we assume that the movie inspired him though, he was seen rapping on stage shortly after taking his team to see the movie.
