Evan Mathis has finally found a new home and he’ll be looking to give a boost to the Broncos offensive line
Evan Mathis has been one of the bigger names on the NFL free agent market over the course of the off-season, but you can take him off the list now. On Tuesday, Mathis finally found himself a new home, signing a one-year deal with the Denver Broncos.

As far as the terms of the deal, that’s where some people might be a little surprised. Before he was cut by the Philadelphia Eagles, Mathis was making $5.5 million, and he was even offered that by another team that was in the running for his services.
However, with the Broncos, Mathis opted to take $4 million for this season, just for the simple reason that he wanted to play for a contender and potentially get a ring.

This is a huge boost for the offensive line of the Broncos, who showed last season that they had some issues up front. Plus, it pretty much goes without saying that the more protection that you can get for Peyton Manning and the more help that you can get to open holes for the running game is certainly better.
They got that help on Tuesday in the form of the veteran Mathis, and at a bit of a discount.
