Klay Thompson tried to use a shortcut while racing go-karts and it backfired terribly
Klay Thompson has to be living the high life after helping lead the Golden State Warriors to winning the 2015 NBA Championship. As part of arguably the best backcourt in the league alongside Stephen Curry, Thompson knows that there are no shortcuts to being an NBA Champion.
However, Thompson had to find out the hard way that there are also no shortcuts on the go-kart track as well.
Thompson posted a video to Instagram on Wednesday morning of himself racing go-karts and trying to cut across a median as a shortcut. It did not end well for the Warriors guard:
If you’re the guy who has to come out onto the track to get Klay Thompson’s go-kart moving once again, what do you even say in that situation? Do you ask for an autograph before you get him up and running again? Do you make some jokes at an NBA player’s expense? The opportunities in that instance are endless.
While Thompson learned his lesson on the go-kart track, it’s also good to see that he can poke some fun at himself. The Mario Kart reference was also a nice touch on Thompson’s part. Maybe if he would have had a mushroom boost his shortcut would’ve worked out better for him.
