Lovie Smith – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Despite some disappointment white at the helm of the Chicago Bears, Lovie Smith was fairly well regarded as a coach and the Bucs thought they were getting someone who could help turn their franchise around in 2014. After all, we’re talking about a coach that had put together 81-63 record in Chicago and had guided the Bears to the postseason three times during his tenure, including an NFC Championship in 2006.

However, things went about as bad as they could during Lovie’s first year in Tampa Bay. The Bucs finished 29th in the league in points scored in 2014 and finished 25th in points allowed, leading to a point differential of -133 and a 2-14 record.

That doesn’t get the job done in anybody’s book and it catapulted Lovie Smith right into the dog house for 2015. With number one pick Jameis Winston now under center and the team looking for a new direction, Smith will get one last chance to prove he’s the man for the job, or he’ll he looking for a new one for the second time in three seasons.
