Jose Bautista trades jersey for fan’s Messi jersey (Video)
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista saw a Lionel Messi jersey in the crowd he really wanted, so he gave up the jersey off his back for it.
Sometimes when someone sees something they like, they just gotta have it. For Jose Bautista, the object of his desire came in the form of a Lionel Messi jersey, which a fan was wearing in the stands as the Toronto Blue Jays took batting practice before their game against the Texas Rangers.
Bautista, a huge fan of FC Barcelona, noticed the fan wearing the jersey and went over and negotiated a deal that would land the Blue Jays All-Star a brand new jersey.
In return, the fan got the jersey off Bautista’s back and two autographed baseballs. Not a bad swap for wearing a jersey to the game.
The best part of this story, is the fact that Jose Bautista could probably get a Lionel Messi jersey anytime he wants, but he had to have the one he saw right then and there. It’s cool to see Bautista interacting with the fans and giving the lucky jersey-wearing fan something in return for the jersey.
Bautista would then take a picture with the fan while wearing his new jersey.
The Toronto Blue Jays currently lead the American League East Division and are the hottest team in baseball. With cool guys like Bautista leading the team, it’s hard not to root for him and the Blue Jays.
Let’s be honest though, who wouldn’t want a Lionel Messi jersey?
